Girl Geeks 2026

A Flagship Initiative by IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter

Girl Geeks 2026 is a national-level innovation and leadership programme by the IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter, aimed at empowering women engineering students through technology-driven problem solving, mentorship, and innovation.

Now in its eighth edition, the programme provides a structured platform for colleges across India to nurture student innovation through guided workshops, design thinking, collaboration, and prototype development.

Programme Structure

Participating colleges will conduct the programme internally with faculty coordination and student teams.

Team Requirements

• Team size: Maximum 5 members
• Minimum 50% girls in every team
• At least 1 IEEE member required
• At least 1 Computer Society member required

Mandatory In-Person Workshop

Before the commencement of the programme, each participating college must conduct one mandatory in-person workshop aligned with the Girl Geeks theme.

• Workshop sessions must be recorded
• Recordings will be uploaded to the IEEE CS Bangalore Chapter YouTube platform
• The coordination team will support colleges facing logistical challenges

Grand Finale

Top-performing teams from participating colleges will advance to the
IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Finale to be held in Bangalore during the WiE Annual Event in November 2026.

The finale offers students an opportunity to showcase innovations, gain recognition, and connect with IEEE leaders, mentors, and industry professionals.

College Commitments

• Nominate a faculty coordinator
• Conduct the mandatory workshop
• Execute the complete 4-week programme
• Select and mentor top-performing teams
• Ensure active student participation and institutional support
• Choose a suitable programme month within the allotted timeline
